Sketch Walk: Na Knížecí - Malvazinky

Come sketch with me on a little sketch‑walk through Smíchov — we’ll warm up both our hands and our legs as we go. We’ll start with 30 minutes at Na Knížecí bus station, a place that’s far more interesting to draw than it first appears: all the criss‑crossing lines of the platforms, the steady flow of buses and the mix of commuters give it a great urban rhythm.

From there we’ll walk up the hill to Villa Helenka, a lovely example of late‑19th‑century architecture tucked into the neighbourhood. Its decorative façade and slightly grand, slightly time‑worn character make it a charming subject, especially after the bustle of Na Knížecí.

We’ll finish with 30 minutes in the Malvazinky colony, a peaceful little pocket of small houses and gardens that feels worlds away from the city below. The climb up will definitely help us warm up, and the contrast between the three spots should make for a really fun set of sketches.

For New Members

Our events are open to everyone who enjoys drawing and urban sketching. There are no fees, just bring your own sketchbook and media you like. There is no formal tuition given but you can certainly get inspired by others. All levels are welcome!
