Urban Sketching: Žižkov tunnel

Join us for a sketching session in and around the Žižkov tunnel! We’ll begin at Tachovské náměstí and end at Thámova street, sketching both the tunnel’s moody, tiled interior and the vibrant urban scenes at its entrances. This 303-meter Cold War-era passage beneath Vítkov Hill—originally built in the 1950s as a pedestrian shortcut and nuclear fallout shelter—offers a rich blend of history, architecture, and everyday life to inspire your creativity.

13:00 : Meeting at Tachovské náměstí (somewhere in the shade).

15:00 : Meeting at the other end of the tunnel (Thámova street), showing our sketches, sharing our experiences.

When sketching inside the tunnel, be mindful of others and stand aside to leave space for pedestrians and cyclists to pass through. Thank you. :)

For New Members

Our events are open to everyone who enjoys drawing and urban sketching. There are no fees, just bring your own sketchbook and media you like. There is no formal tuition given but you can certainly get inspired by others. All levels are welcome!
