Urban Sketching: Invalidovna

Let’s meet for an urban sketching session at Invalidovna, joining the official one‑day opening before the building closes for its long‑awaited renovation. The National Heritage Institute is inviting the public to see the complex in its current state one last time, and it’s a rare chance to experience the atmosphere of this monumental baroque landmark before restoration work begins.

Invalidovna, built in the 18th century as a residence and care facility for war veterans, has always stood out for its scale, symmetry and quiet dignity. Over the years it has served many different roles, and its courtyards, arcades and façades carry visible traces of time — something that makes it especially compelling to sketch right now.

We will sketch only exteriors.

For New Members

Our events are open to everyone who enjoys drawing and urban sketching. There are no fees, just bring your own sketchbook and media you like. There is no formal tuition given but you can certainly get inspired by others. All levels are welcome!
