Sketching Vltava I.: Komořany - Lahovice

Come sketch with us on a sketch walk along the Vltava — this will be the first event in a series where we explore and draw different parts of the river. The Vltava has shaped Prague for centuries, from trade and transport in the past to recreation and everyday life today.

We’ll start at Komořanské tůně, a quiet area with ponds, reeds and plenty of small natural corners to sketch. After sketching here for 30 minutes we will walk towards the ferry (P6) that will take us across to Lahovice. 

On this side of the river we will stop for sketching at the ferry area or at "Alex and Irča" (one can usually meet some animals there). 

Then we will continue to Zdymadlo Modřany, where we’ll do our final sketch. The lock area has an interesting mix of technical structures, water, and open views along the river.

14:00 : Meeting at Komořany Meadow (loučka Komořany)

Around 16:00-16:30 : Meeting on the other side of the river at the level of Modřany Lock (zdymadlo Modřany), sharing experiences.

After the event we can go back to "Stánek u Alexe a Irči" and enjoy the late afternoon and chat.

For New Members

Our events are open to everyone who enjoys drawing and urban sketching. There are no fees, just bring your own sketchbook and media you like. There is no formal tuition given but you can certainly get inspired by others. All levels are welcome!

If you have urban sketching questions or suggestions, please bring them up with the group admins.
